My Honest 5-Minute Beauty Edit

By Amber · July 11, 2026 · 3 min read

I don't have a twelve-step routine, and if I'm being honest, I never finished one in my life. What I have is five minutes and a small group of products I actually use to the bottom. That's the whole secret.

Somewhere along the way, beauty started feeling like homework — a shelf of half-used bottles, each promising to fix something I didn't know was broken. So I did the opposite of what the internet says. I stripped it back to what actually earns its spot, and my skin has never looked more like me.

Here's the five-minute version, in the order I do it.

1 · A good cleanser (that I don't overthink)

Gentle, non-stripping, off in thirty seconds. The most expensive thing you can do to your skin is over-clean it. This step is short on purpose.

2 · One vitamin-C-ish serum in the morning

This is my one "active." A few drops, brightening, does more for how awake I look than any amount of concealer. If you add a single product to a bare routine, I'd make it this.

3 · Moisturizer with SPF — non-negotiable

The single most anti-aging thing any of us can do, and it's the least glamorous. I use a moisturizer with SPF built in so I can't talk myself out of it on a rushed morning. This is the step I'd never skip.

4 · A tinted balm doing three jobs

Cheeks, lips, and the "I look alive" glow, all from one stick I keep in my bag. Multitaskers are how a five-minute routine stays five minutes.

5 · A brow gel and I'm done

Brushed-up brows make a bare face look intentional instead of unfinished. Ten seconds. Out the door.

You have five minutes. That's genuinely enough. Fewer products you love beats a shelf of ones you don't — every single time.
